The Old Rugged Cross – Tom Tripp

The Old Rugged Cross
(Written by Rev. George Bennard (1873-1958)

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary.

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see,
For 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then He'll call me some day to my home far away,
Where His glory forever I'll share.

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

Because Of You – The Bridge Band

Song written by Stephen Henricks and Brian McIntire

Verse 1
I am known by the King of kings
He sustains my life and all things
I put my faith in the promise of him
And the presence of his Spirit within
Lord Jesus

Chorus
Because of you I will always hope
I´ll praise you more and more
My mouth will tell of your righteousness
And salvation all day long

Verse 2
Jesus Lamb of my righteousness
You picked me up and you gave me rest
Before you made the greatest ocean
My name by you was spoken
Lord Jesus

Chorus
Because of you I will always hope
I´ll praise you more and more
My mouth will tell of your righteousness
And salvation all day long

Song In The Night – Alison Kitchen

When darkness troubles my soul
When doubts and fears awake me
When sleep is so far away
Oh Lord, do not forsake me
Oh Lord, do not forsake me

When there's no one to understand
And my heart is cold and lonely
If I were to reach out my hand
Would you be there to hold me?
Would you be there to hold me?

Would you be my song in the night
That breaks the power of silence?
Just one look in your eyes
Would show me the love that sustains me
Like a song in the night

I will not feel alone
If I know that you can hear me
I will not be afraid
If I know that you are near me

[verse 1]
By Your mercy, You have changed my world,
In Your grace I stand amazed.
Your forgiveness is so awesome, Lord,
And in You I know
That my love will grow
As I sing Your end-less praise!

[chorus]
You are the Holy One,
God's righteous, Holy Son.
You are the only One for me,
From now through eternity.

You are the Holy One,
God's righteous, Holy Son,
With grace and love beyond degree…
You are the Holy One!

[verse 2]
Through Your goodness, I've been given hope;
For Your kingdom I await.
There is power through Your Spirit, Lord,
Oh, I lift my voice
'Cause I feel Your joy
And I shout Your glorious Name!

[bridge]
And now by Your precious blood,
We're purified within;
We're clothed in Your righteousness, dear Jesus.
Now holy and sanctified, we come before Your throne
To renew our praise
For Your matchless ways
And the mercy You have shown!

[repeat chorus]

[instrumental]

[alternate chorus]
You are the Holy One,
God's faithful, Holy Son.
You are the One Who flows through me,
From now through eternity.

You are the Holy One,
God's righteous, Holy Son,
With grace and love beyond degree:
You are the Holy One!

[ending tag]
You are Holy… Holy in me…
You are the Holy One!

Songs of Joy (from Psalm 126) – David Cooley

Lord brought back the captives
Restored us to our homes
We were filled with laughter
Singing songs of joy
Singing songs of joy

It was said among the nations
The Lord has done great things
He has come and saved us
Singing songs of joy
Singing songs of joy

Lord restore our fortunes
Like the Negev stream (that)
Flows down from the mountain
Singing songs of joy
Singing songs of joy

He who goes out weeping
Carrying seeds to sow (will)
Reap a righteous harvest
Singing songs of joy
Singing songs of joy

He sent His son to save us
Save us from our sin (He)
Spilled His blood to cleanse us
So we can be with Him
Singing songs of joy
Singing songs of joy

There is a Fountain – Dennis Agajanian

There Is a Fountain Filled with Blood
Text: William Cowper, 1731-1800
Music: 19th cent. USA campmeeting melody (CWH attrib. to Lowell Mason)
Tune: CLEANSING FOUNTAIN, Meter: CMD
—————————————————-
1. There is a fountain filled with blood
drawn from Emmanuel's veins;
and sinners plunged beneath that flood
lose all their guilty stains.
Lose all their guilty stains,
lose all their guilty stains;
and sinners plunged beneath that flood
lose all their guilty stains.

2. The dying thief rejoiced to see
that fountain in his day;
and there may I, though vile as he,
wash all my sins away.
Wash all my sins away,
wash all my sins away;
and there may I, though vile as he,
wash all my sins away.

3. Dear dying Lamb, thy precious blood
shall never lose its power
till all the ransomed church of God
be saved, to sin no more.
Be saved, to sin no more,
be saved, to sin no more;
till all the ransomed church of God
be saved, to sin no more.

4. E'er since, by faith, I saw the stream
thy flowing wounds supply,
redeeming love has been my theme,
and shall be till I die.
And shall be till I die,
and shall be till I die;
redeeming love has been my theme,
and shall be till I die.

5. Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I'll sing thy power to save,
when this poor lisping, stammering tongue
lies silent in the grave.
Lies silent in the grave,
lies silent in the grave;
when this poor lisping, stammering tongue
lies silent in the grave.
